VAK - Loud Wind (LP)

The Swedish band VAK released their first album in 2017, but their career was put on hold when one of the members became seriously ill by Lemierre's syndrome and a trombose in his head. Fortunately it ended well, so now VAK are back from the dead and present their second album "Loud Wind", which is released on Indie Recordings. The album is produced by the band itself and mixed and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult of Luna). The members of VAK have broad experience from various bands and genres, such as Switch Opens, Misery Loves Co., Slowland, Rat, Sesam, Gordon Fights, Music is the Weapon, The Field and Gösta Berlings Saga.

The band's sound is hard to define;  among the band’s inspirations you will find names like Radiohead, Tool, Mastodon, Genesis, Kate Bush, Rage Against the Machine, Breach, Neil Young and Soundgarden. One crucial factor is that all five members of the band are equally important, VAK are emphatically democratic in their creative process. With "Loud Wind", VAK delivers a versatile hard rock blend, based on intelligence and humor. A listener who is smiling is a good listener.
