After 10 albums and years with continuous touring, Skambankt has established themselves as one of the biggest rock bands in Norway!
Skambankt is mostly known as an uncompromising hard rock band from Jæren in Rogaland, Norway. With over 25 years of experience, they have countless tour dates and 10 records behind them. Ever since their second album, ‘Eliksir’, they've often been seen on the top 10 of Norway's national hit lists, and got their first #1 track on their 2014 album ‘Sirene’. Skambankt also earned the Spotify award for 'innovator of the year' in 2013 during the Norwegian Grammy awards Spellemann.
When Skambankt had their comeback in 2018, it did not go unnoticed. The release of their sixth full-length “Horisonten Brenner”, along with a live-album, sold out shows, massiv touring, three double singles selling out on vinyl, and an acoustic masterpiece “1994” was given a warm welcome from both press and fans.
Most people would associate Skambankt with massive guitars, powerful drums, energic rock, punk and hardrock – and there’s nothing wrong with that. But, behind that delicious wall of sound you’ll come to discover beautiful tunes with well written, strong lyrics. Their first ever acoustic release "1994" received great feedback, and Skambankt took yet again an unexpected turn on the next album. "Jærtegn", still rock, but with a hint of country, indie, and acoustic elements intertwined in a profound sonic experience.
When the time came to write and record their tenth album, the band decided to yet again surprise by going back to their roots. It was time to dust off the pedals, electric guitars and amplifiers. It was time to turn it up and use their outside voice again. The result was the album “TI”, the sound of a band that’s come a long way since their debut in 2004. From agitated to calm, lavish to minimalistic – on this album you will hear it all. Skambankt’s unique twist on melodic and hard-hitting rock, while also writing poetic and meaningful lyrics struck an immediate nerve in their listeners.
